Hayling Sat evening Had a great afternoon and evening at Hayling, Eastoke end, on Saturday with my youngest son. Superb weather (for us anyway), not much wind or weed. Tried some spinning and various baits of various sizes, lots of variety. Carried on after dark and just past high tide (10pm). No fish. Not a thing. Most bait came back out untouched. We still had a great time though. Quick questions. Would we have been better off at other end of the island? Should we have stayed later? Or both?

Re: Hayling Sat evening Shame on the blank, but at least you were out trying. Sorry I do not know the beach so can't suggest a better spot. I find sea fishing can be affected by so many things and a blank can happen for no apparent reason __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards.

Re: Hayling Sat evening One other thing. Bright full moon was shining on the water. Is this a bad thing?

Re: Hayling Sat evening I should say I'm sorry! Sat night it fished it fished very well at Eastoke corner .... nice gurnard, bream, dogs and two of these (best 4lbs; or I should say 3-15-8 ... damn!) ![]() Beautiful conditions to fish in as we don't get the weed you get at Pagham and Selsey!!! Ada PS ... there's a new tackle/bait shop at Eastoke Corner now - opp. the newsagents and 100m from Eastoke Car Park. Nothing to do with me ... one of Manning's of Widley/Purbrook. Recommended.

Re: Hayling Sat evening Unbelieveable! Nice early codling Gremlin. Is that lugworm with a squid tip? I was either too far along (groyne 8) or too early (left at 10pm), or just not as good as you! I know the tackle shop you mean and I sometime use the Widley one. Might give tomorrow afternoon's high tide a try, either Eastoke corner or IOB. Thank for the replies guys.
