dawlish last night 3/9/8

Fished Dawlish last night with 6 other members of club for the wed night league

decided to try fishing the langstone rock end of the warren
( sorry no pics as camera rechargeing for france and phone was nearly dead)
a nice comfey place to fish( walkway) although a touch tricky to pull up over last 10 ft breakwater boulders

well it all looked so good, weather a bit windy but that was giving a cracking surf, odd showers but not too bad

i fished 1 rod 2 hhok flapper 1/0 other single size 1
bait was a bit of ragworm, and lug and sone pink(ish) squid

after 1/2 hour I had a nice bite and a 15oz wrasse, game on something to weigh in

But after that Si and myself sat and watched motionless rods for the reat of eve

come the weigh in we find the others who had been fishing the main surf beach had had plenty of small schoolies up to 38cm( still 3 cm short of weigh in) and 1 doggie, all on worm

so in end i was 2nd and Ade 1st again

at least not a blank but was really poor fishing

bet it picks right up after this blow this weekend ( and i'm away )

Never mind Dave, you'll just have to console youself with a few 80lb Catfish & Sturgeon & maybe the odd 50lb Carp...... I've heard ther're the French equivalent of Pout...

40yds short of langstone rock. 'bout 20yds left of the reef where it runs to sand,& the boulders ain't so high used to be good for a stack of doggies and a few ray or it was 20 odd year ago.
i used to park in the big carpark & use the bridge over the rail line.
