Ping went to Brighton

as visiting parents thought would take opportunity to fish somewhere new

after a frustrating deay hunting and failing for a stickleback it was time for some proper fishing

now i spent hours when younger wasteing time in brighton, also doing stupid car races from parents to see who could get to doughnut stand at pier quickest ( did manage under 40 mins once)
phoned the tackle box and they told me the east arm was open but west shut and was fishing ok
they even offered to get some bait delivered late in eve if wanted( now theres service)
got there 6.15 and parked up in the multistorey

but my hasnt it changed arround the marina, all posh shops, bars, clubs and stuff
and so it was that a scruffy fat bloke loaded up with stinky bait box, rods and huge tackle box left the multistorey carpark at 6.30pm , walking along with a lovely group of young ladies all dressed up to 9's for their night out( i nearly went home to change)

i then trudged the long walkway to the east arm

but when there what a nice and easy venue to fish
met a guy as walked along who gave me some good news that more Sole were caught today, and that smoothies had been caught at bay 19
game on, i knew where i wanted to fish, now would he be proved right

shifted along wall and set up in No20( tinsel flingers all the way along untill here) by 7pm

bit later the warden came along and i paid my £4 and had the sole confirmed

early eve had a few disasters with tangled lines etc, saw a small shoal of makkie and had 1 for extra bait, fishing 1 rod 2/0 pennel with crab or squid alternateing other 3 hook flapper size 4 or wishbone size 4 ( yep a scratching B'strd as the club would call me , but there were sole arround) then at last at about 9 another good bite and fish on ,on a size 4 wishbone, sole????????#

carried on and at 10.30 a bite on the whole squid, reeled in mmm there is something there but what????????

well the man was right there were smoothies , and thus it was that i had this leviathon on the line infront of me


carried on till 1 with just several small pout takeing the baits
a pleasent eve ,lost no gear as clean ground here, was in teeshirt most of the time, and managed a kebab on way back

note to self , It would be worth a dropnet here if got any bigstuff

i'll be back , next time with some party clothes as well

Sounds like a pleasant evening and well done on the scad.....but the hound is a bath toy right!?

Well done mate...sounds a nice little session....with a few points chucked in!! When myself and lewis go over there we tend to fish further round towards the end of the arm.....makes the walk a bit longer but seems to fish better.
