Pagham...today Not much to say really....fished with lewis hopeing for a few fish but only managed a wrasse myself and lewis had a small bass a wrasse and a mack! water wasnt as dirty as we had hoped for which made the fishing really dificault in day light....we both seemed to think it didnt look very fishy out there and didnt stay to long....mind you if it was dark then im sure it would of been a whole diferent story......considering this beach has turned out three different species over 30lb this year !!! beats my 1-2oz wrasse anyway!! lol Anyway think i may of had a corkwing wrasse but will have to post the pic up to see what you guys think when ive sorted my comp out!!....had to do a factory reset and lost my driver for my phone to drag the pic off!! The wrasse had a black spot on the tail which seems to be the difference from the ballan? any other things to look out for? Cheers.

Re: Pagham...today Flying Fox and Myself decided to give Pagham another go last night (29th Aug) and we thought it would be worth ago for tope. So firstly I went down Worthing Pier to catch some mackerel for bait. After feathering away for about an hour and a half I managed to get enough mackerel and also had two bonus fish on the feathers . Firstly an Allis Shad ![]() and a garfish also ![]() Two more species for the hunt. .Then in the evening we went to Pagham, both had fish early on , I had a mackerel, Gurnard and 2 bream, Ollie a bream and a pout. No bites on our rods with big fish baits. Left at high tide, as we walked past some other anglers one of them said they had a small codling , but really it was very poor fishing.

![]() Pagham is a venue that is 98% of the time awful, when it does fish well it can throw up some very big fish. |

Re: Pagham...today How bigs that nice thornback there and what did he catch it on ? Have to admit when Pagham fishes well it can fish its nuts off, this year we had lots of good bream, mate of mine had a treble shot for a near combined weighted of just under 5lb. Personally I wouldnt rate it too highly as a daytime venue though but always worth a try at night

Re: Pagham...today Just found this site today and it looks very interesting. I will be down at Selsey for a week starting on the 13thSept. What is the best bait, time of tide etc for the area. I have fished there twice before without much success so any help would be appreciated.
