| 2 and a half lobsters from ferrybridge went off to ferrybridge today in hunt of triggers, but happy for anything tactics were scratching rigs all day for anything got there at 10 and as we came over tha bank to meet Geejay saw a guy to his left pull in a trigger , oh yes this was going to be good( they were right on top of adelade wreck we were a bit too rightalso Geejay had had a bream and mackeral as well set up stand and tried to belt out a bait ( birdie No1 of many on this reel for day untill huge nest and crackoff ended play with that reel)but soon had 2 rods out and fishing rich took things a bit more leasurely and some 35/40 minutes later he was fishing as well ![]() looking east was worse as looked more like a landfill site with litter everywhere ok not all fishing related but alot was, especially mackeral feather rig packets, THERE IS NO NEED , both gordon and myself brought back alot more than we createdalso gordon found loads of mackeral headed and gutted on beach, if you dont want them dont catch them surely ![]() well unfortunately it was dire fishing after that there was a good swell and a strong NW wind running straight into us makeing distance casting a no go Gordon was overcome by it all a took 40 winks I did manage a makkie in a retrive of a flapper rig and rich feathered a few for bait, but makkie dont really count gordon left soon after 3 and we gave it till 6 naff all else happened apart from we got cooked by the sun and now resemble a lobster sitting here glowing now, rich is as bad and gordons the 1/2 lobster ![]() another poor day on chesil next time as ever ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |

| Re: 2 and a half lobsters from ferrybridge Unlucky on the Triggers Guys, but at least the sun came out for you. I know what you mean about the rubbish on that end of Chesil. If it's not dropped by so called anglers, it gets washed up in Chesil Cove by the wind & tide.... __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: 2 and a half lobsters from ferrybridge Good report mate.. I'm suffering today. My face and neck are a touch sore to say the least. It was good to get out and the weather was magnificent, just no fish. Ah well. At least we established the coast road is quicker than the A35 and that I should never, NEVER entertain thoughts of joining a rodeo. Roping is not for me. End of. Wonder if we can get back up there before the Triggers leave??? ![]() That is unless the, ahem, forum can come up with a venue closer to home... AHEM. __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. | Re: 2 and a half lobsters from ferrybridge I have come to the conclusion that you didn't catch a trigger on purpose , just to have an excuse to go backShame on not getting your target fish but nevertheless, it sounds like you still had a good time ![]() __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving |

| Re: 2 and a half lobsters from ferrybridge well it was good to meet up again guys, ping'- ta fer the berger n bacon rolls, baggie- how long does it take you to set up your rods? ![]() as typed earlier i was already there, i arrived about 2.30am and wandered aimlessly towards the adelaide, as i crested the bank i could see a couple of more tents camped out but no one fishing as the tide dropped so i set myself up and fished the ebb down to about 6am and daylight. there was a moderate swell still and the wind was still s/w i really hoped that it would swing n/w as predicted and flatten out the waves a bit but it was sods law the wind stayed s/w and we had the swell for most of the day .i caught nothing in darkness and very little in day light , i had a little bream just after sun up with just the odd mackerel that took on the retreive to follow. bait- mackerel, squid, sandeel. rigs- pulley, 2 hooks flapping , 2 hooks clipped. a stiff head wind was significantly restricting casting to 80 odd yards at most , and that was b4 i'd puffed up my reels and lost some line which didn't help. although its much more sociable i usually hate fishing day light coz its so damn sllooooooow. but its got to be done for some species. here's a couple more piccs, dave and rich [IMG] [/IMG]veiw east. [IMG] [/IMG]i hope we do better next time __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |
