while the pub satereday nite (always bad )we decided to go out on sunday for a play in the river as wind was not going to let us go anywere else. so a hung over me and 4 m8s pinched the yard launch and went to the rough ground at the mouth .
it was crap , nothink but weed , but i guees we knew it might happen in a big tide. still we tryed anyway
what also was odd was the was not any bass boiling on the surface which in a big tide should happen.
so i moved up river and went on the shallow mud flats., which was great for a while with lots of small bass, bream to 1 lb and a nice big fat 1 1/2lb flounder ,1st of the year for me . then slack came and it went dead , as the tide started to get away things picked up again with more bass and bream , but come 4 pm we had done 200 rag and packed up and head back the place where it all started in the pub for some hair of the dog.
all in all good fun day in good company
