| lee on solent,25th july. with the end of my week off work fast approaching and armed with the last of daves crab from the charmouth session i thought it would be just plain rude not to use them somewhere. And so after gaining a final pass from the missus, midnight found me heading for the solent. monks hill has done me good in the past so i dropped in there at about 2am. conditions looked almost ideal with calm seas and a riseing tide for 4am high water, however the wind, though light, had gone easterly and a big bright moon was showing in the clear night sky  .aside from that it was a dry warm night and comfortable fishing. baits were crab,/ squid/sandeel/bluey. rigs ;- pulleys and a 2ook flapper.. drifting weed was minimal and things looked hopefull, and i gave 100% concentration on what i was doing for a change waiting patiently for a good pull round on the crab baits instead of just chucking and hopeing & fighting sleep. But it all proved fruitless, with just a few nibbles on the sandeel baits which came to nothing. i fished on into daylight till 6am b4 giving up an hour or so into the ebb. the only life i dragged from the deep was a mini squid empailed on the grip wire of my lead  .[IMG]  [/IMG]6hours kip in a roadside motel(layby) before dragging myself reluctantly back to wiltshire. blank sessions total creeping up nicely . can't win all the time __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.
