Thumbs up how to get a smile on baggies face, BASS at Charmouth

went off down to Charmouth last night

armed with some very recently dead sandeel( couldnt manage to keep live from tue eve), fresh lug and crab
fished way left of the landslip over the river, on the way chatted to several "fosselers" def a place to take kids in summer on a treasure hunt

both fished 1 rod crab other sandeel, and to start i had a 2 hook flapper out close for a bass

first blood went to Baggies rod , i saw bite and struck as rich was away off down beach with other rod, then passed over and he did the honours, just as we had visitors as well so looks a bit like a ghost in back of pic

this bass at 41cm , just in size but it went back

next i was in with a tiny ray about dinner plate size on a sandeel 20ft out hoping for bass,
this was also the best ray of night but still soo pretty

then heres how to get baggie smileing
a cracking 3lb12 bass definately fish of the night
well done mate

then i was in with more of the tiny ray( sorry pics were all blurred so none of these cute smileing tiddlers)

it all went quiet from 11-12 in last hour of drop
then at 12.30 rich had another bass, just undersized and me another super tiny ray

at the end rich had had the 3 bass and a fair few pout, myself 4 tiny ray and again a fair few pout, funny both of us fishing similar tacktics but the bass didnt like me or the ray rich

a cracking night really, left at 1.40 a bit later than planned

3 1/2 hours kip. I'm knackered.

Still it was a cracking night, pretty fish all round, which is never a bad thing. I think we're gonna have to spend a little more time here over the coming weeks. Need to suss out which tides fish best....

Good report mate.
