| i was going to call this thread The weekend where I took Mrs P out to lose her virginity and then undeterred had a rough night in the hole at seaton with Baggie but thought would be too long ![]() ![]() I never did get to fish Fri night and then took all day sat to get rid of the mother of all hangovers( that lasted all day at work as well ) from a small session fri nightSat night and a rare thing , a babysitter for us, and gawd help us but the ever forgiving Mrs P ( Nik) still wants to try sea fishing. had previously been decided on good old jacobs,as we had to be back for midnight and after a quick blat through the lanes we got there for soon after 8 and wandered along the beach, where we met paul and karen(spahill and Kirikomi) who were in for the night conditions looked good , but in the daylight as ever not a touch, i was all out for ray with 2/0's and sandeel only, Mrs P was a 3 hook flapper size 1 on 1 rod for anything and a 2/0 pennel and sandeel for ray on other as it eventually started to get dark i first missed a good bite, then after got the smallest of rattles then a lift and slack and in comes my first ray from jacobs this year ![]() even mrs was chuffed , as i think she was believing that there was nothing out there and the beach was just somewhere different to eat poretzels and drink coffee( no more beer today![]() paul had had a dogfish and unfortunately it got arround all to quickly the time for us to pack up, and as we were doing this nikki noticed a nod on the bigger rod and soon she reeled in her first ever sea fish ![]() an ever obligeing dogfish, she was chuffed, but unfortunately we had to say our goodbyes and head home, a good night, I hope to hear paul and karen found a ray as well later ------------------------------------ low point of weekend now heard later on sun morning from good mate who was fishing just arround headland near salcombe that a boat (E7 **** )illegally dropped nets again just off the beach between midnight and 6am , the illegal netters are getting rampant arround here lately ------------------------------------ sunday night and was out with baggie went armed with crabs to seaton but the beach was rammed with tinsel flingers so where to go, a look on tourist board and i see Seaton Hole, somewhere i have heard of but never fished, lets go look we decide well what a cracking venue, ok a bit of a plod down and snaggy as hell, but if fished right i bet produces well looking back towards seaton looking west rich was playing arround with his new toy a 6500 high speed, what a cracking reel, and we watched as the mackeral drove the whitebait onto the shore, so we gould just pick up as much as we liked( should have whacked straight out as bait i guess )well as said I'm sure if I fished right ,this place will produce, and i would like to see on a spring low, But at distance i lost gear, and missed 1 good bite, but we had the beach to ourselves and a dotty cluck in hand( decided could face a beer again tonight ) what could be betterrich got a makkie from 6 ft out and later a doggie at similar range, so the fish are there , and i bet is a top wrasse spot in daylight, so definately a place to return, but set up for rough ground its a lovely spot pleasent eve and even made the bab shop with a minute to spare top weekend really, just spoilt a bit by 1 phone call ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives Last edited by pingu; 07-14-2008 at 07:46 AM. |

| Re: a good weekend Would love to report more ray, but can't .Bloke fishing further along gave up soon after Dave with a blank. Night passed oh too quickly as usual & we packed up at 03:00. Ended up with 5 doggies all on sandeel, the lug worm failed to generate any interest at all. will be back to try again in a couple of weeks __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:> |

| Re: a good weekend I think "the hole" is going to need some looking into mate. Does look to be quite fishy, but next time I'm going back with a spinning rod a few surface plugs. I'm damned sure I got hit by a Bass last night. Either that or a mackerel on steroids! Oh, BTW, has the beach changeed at Jacobs then, 'cause I can see sand in your photo and what with the neaps this weekend I wouldn't have expected that!!! __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods.
