| Wales v England With the news that my brother Dan was fishing hobbs point, pembroke dock (wales) at the same time as i was fishing down dartmouth way last night, i challenged him to a 'race ya to the biggest' comp. Weather was great, morale was high, and with a dozen mackeral caught for huss bait, i was well prepared for the comp. I landed a couple of nice wrasse while it was light...lovely looking fish. Then disaster via the phone Dan has caught his very first smoothound at 10lb ![]() ![]() i'm happy for him really.now i'm playing catchup, using whole macky fillets for baits, all i'm getting is doggies, though i did lose 2 better fish. Then at about 1-30am, i struck into something good. after a 5 minute fight, and a nervous solo effort with the net, i landed a good 8lb huss. He was returned safely, as was Dan's smoothound. I guess i just about lost the wales v england comp, but at least we both got good fish. I finished at about 3 am, for the hours drive home, watched the springboks beat the all blacks (taped) and fell into a comatose sleep... dreaming of huss. |
