| goring beach Bash....saturday 12th. Myself and lewis decided to give the beach a go in chance for a hound or two on Saturday afternoon into the evening after he tried in the morning and had one first chuck and missed a couple. things looked good with the wind dropping water dirty short and slightly over cast at times......and most of all some fresh spider crab. Arrived down there about 5 and fished till 9....fished one rod each with one hook baited with spider crab.....first few chucks didnt promise much but i managed an eel and a small hound of around 4-5lb in the first hour.....after that things started to pic up with me having another hound of the same size an eel of 1lb 1/2 and finally i hook a decent hound after missing one....forgot my scales but estimated the weight of it as a double....maybe 11lb....pic to follow. missed two or three more takes before the tide got to low and decided to head off home. As for mr Lewis......I'll let him tell you about it but i have to say......id be surprised if someone gets a bigger hound down my way this year.....it was a Munster!! lol Well done mate!     |

| Re: goring beach Bash....saturday 12th. Was a good session  Tried the morning tide on saturday but the only fish I landed was this starry hound of 12lb 13oz. Missed a few bites and lost a rig which i later found had a dogfish on it.  Then to Saturday evening, started off pretty slow and missed a hound before landing my first one of the session which went 12lb 2oz, another starry as well.  Missed another couple of bites before hooking into my smallest one which was still a nice sized one of 7lb 7oz.  Last fish i landed was my personal best and Ollie had the honour of weighing it for me and taking a quick picture  18lb 3oz common smoothound   The good thing about the fishing was we were probably fishing in no more than 6 foot of water and they seemed to fight alot harder than normal. All my fish were weighed on digital scales and were all returned. Was a really good fishing trip and seems like we'll have to go and fish for them again later - would be rude not to |
