| tough night at rodney bay Last night was the first wed match numbers fishing were low again wether due to comps either end of week, or a totally wrong weather report( said thunderstorms but was a pleasent eve really) or big brother on TV who knows , anyway the 5 of us went down to fish witha steady wind pushing in the tide we had to time the crossing of the rock platform at the bottom of steps to avoid getting a hint wet gets covered every 3rd wave![]() conditions looked great for a bass so this was definate target to start then we found out what was in the water WEED lots and lots of WEED infact as bad as selseywell we fished on till 10.30 when the war of attriction became to much finding rigs pushed up and washed up on the beach 60-70yrds away wasnt fun anymore ![]() 2 fish were caught a mackeral of 11 oz and a 45cm bass just under 2lb with baited breath we waited to see which would carry best specimin size for the comp ( trouble is bass hold a big specimin size so score badly )the mackeral came out at 39.2%, but rightfully the bass won at 39.6% so well done kena tough night roll on next month, branscombe with a good eve tide, has to be smoothound and bass hunting ![]() going to be good and have a night in tonight, removeing sand from all my tackle ![]() ![]() dave __________________ 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day , Game on www.exmouthsaa.co.uk I have the body of a God, Pity its Buddha :-0 |

| Re: tough night at rodney bay Unlucky mate, but wasn't the choice of venue down to last months winner???? ![]() What was the weed like when you got off the platform and onto the sand then? __________________ Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. | Better luck next time Dave. You should be good at coping with weed, with all the practice you've been getting.... ![]() __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org |
