solent smut bash

[monkey nuts]

manged to get out of work 4pm yesterday and shot straight out in the central solent for some smut action.
on first drop i picked up a spider crab , then my spinning rod screamed off and after a little scrap up came a nice 5-6lb smut, then with in seconds of the me netting that my m8 was in with a double shot of a 2lb smut and a doggie.
the evening wore on we had about a doozen more smuts upto 7lb and loads of doggies, plus a few bream and pout.
we had the smut on spider crabs and rag.
at 10 pm we uped anchor and head home as i was getting a stroppy missus giving me shit

today i knocked off at 4 again and head out in the river to use up the rest of the rag and manged 30 or more bass upto 2lb , few wrasse, couple of bream and a snotty eel.
then back on the mooring i had a mullet out in no time , probaly due to the bag of ground bait left there from weekend
this time i was home by 7 so no bollocking this time

nice couple of evenings out , just need to find the bigger smuts.
il try again at weekend hopfully

I wonder why the smuts all seem to be around 5 - 7lbs this year?

Hayling went bananas tonight ... had three before it got dark and half a dozen or more before I'd had enough. All on hardbacks. No weed and no people!!!!
