stoke bay,life boat stn

fished stokes bay by the life boat stn,peeing down of rain last nite.
well set up within the first ten mins i had my first smut of 6lb on crab it was like that all nite on carb slamming bites,lost 5 smuts and hooked the biggest crab i have ever seen

Did they break your line? (Drag setting?)

Once hooked, its very unusual to lose a smut unless you're over very snaggy ground (Hillhead breakwaters and obstructions will do it; as will cables/anchors/pylons on Selsey E Beach).

I'm sure people can make some suggestions if you're really losing 83% of hook-ups?

i think it was the size of my hook went and got some bigger ones so hopefully be better hook ups
