dont worrie john, long as the marks stay with the skippers and the trawler ban stays on in the area consurned it will be fine, 4 years ago thay stayed till the end of august , but the 2 years after were s***, then this year happened
some boat are counting catchs up to 293 cod between 12 anglers, of which im sure alot must be going back. i put 23 back and kept 6 due to deep or badly(foul) hooked

storm shads, lead head jelly worms and twin tails. fished on a short(3-4 foot) trace. were the most sensible choise in my opinion

i also tryed the "KILLER RIG" but after 3-4 drifts you take it off ,cos after 25 - 30 drifts more the would be know where to stand in the boat and your arms would be 3 foot longer

at slack water iv tryed mackerel with no results but squid draged along works and baited feathers chucks up the odd cod plus a few other randoms

cheers john

Eddie Cod cheeks are the cheeks of the Cod cut away.
When i was a kid in Hull , fish shops would sell cheeks and tongues by the bucket load and they were very cheep.
You dont see them now due to the lack of big cod being landed i suppose.
They sometimes apear in resturants as expensive starters.
