| Gilkicker Gosport 15/6/8 Had planned to fish Hillhead but left late so headed for a closer spot in Gosport. Fished billy-no-mates as GW was washing his hair again .... Fished 1930 - 2330 HW2214 Lovely calm peaceful evening, overcast but warm - hardly a ripple on the water and surprisingly an empty beach ! Fished both with sandeel for Rays and fresh peeler for Smuts all night ..... slow going but expected as "specimum hunting" Just after an amazing sunset - the rod went mad and pulled in a nice 3/4lb starry - as ever a real tussle in the edge but she was mine ! That was it - nothing else all night - that's now 3 proper sessions over the last week or so with a single 3-4lb Smut on each occasion  ... still saving myself for the wekend    __________________ SUPPORT THE RNLI - click : www.rnli.org.uk ... every little helps !
