Hillhead Nailors comp

Fished Nailors club comp with a few more anglers than
recent comps.
Obviously the main target was the Smuts and scratching
about for whatever may come.
Fished from 7pm with a strong westerly wind and alot of
weed about and the first fish went to Justin with a palm
sized Plaice.
The sea was very coloured a with a big surf rolling but an hour before high tide Lee had a run on his live peeler

resulting in a 8lb9oz smutty
After returning the fish i walked over to my rods and noticed
a slack line so i reeled in and in till the fish was 10 yards out at it started to run up and down the shore

6lb on the button a PB for me
That was it for a while with the odd spider taking hooks, Lee
had a little knock and reeled in to find

A baby Thorny
And that was that for the comp!
Me Lee/Scotty/Lewism fished on i had a text from the wife that
she had locked herself out Women eh?
Driving along the M27 and Lee rings there back

This one went 7lb2oz
Rushed myself back to Hillhead but there where no more to be had but a very strange night with no pesky Pout or Sholies
So Lee won this comp with me as runner up other than the Plaice
everyone else blanked but everyone fished hard
Im happy i had my first smutty of the year after 2 blanks

Could Lee's starry? and Thorny be added to his species and also this
Wrasse that he caught last week at Chale I.O.W
