mixed bag up southampton water

plan was out to brambles or hill head for smuts and rays, but at the mouth of hamble river we said bollox, its bit to lumpy and we might spill our beers, so we turned right and head southampton .
by 5 .30pm first stop greenlands bouy=== result 1 flounder a first for my m8 lloyd so he was well chuffed

so with only a flatty to show after hour or 2 i mover over the other side and anchor on the edge of the channel in the deep water and it started, dog ,dog ,dog, dog, pout, dog dog, pout ,ect....lloyd was happy he never had one but soon got bored.
nice piccy of sun going down

so 1/2 hour b4 sun set i uped anchor and head off to a sole mark in hope of a early sole or 2,plus it had calmed down alot
first drop i had a baby smut( so i got my hound ) next we had few eels and pout,

then lloyd got somethink different, a baby thornback(a another first for him)

then straight after i had one

then couple more eels and lloyd got his first baby smut.

just after mid nite we said we should head in, as i picked up my it went and hay presto a 1lb sole.

so we stayed another couple of hours but only had more eels, pout and baby smuts. we kept couple of pout for live bait and moved into the river for a bass or 2 , straight away my pout was smashed and in came a 1lb bass....lol than lloyd had another just over 1lb. we stuck some rag worm on the bttom but just got pestered with small bass, so 3 am we head home, with a sole for dinner, makes a change to cod
end result
1 sole, 2 thornbacks, 1 flounder,11 smuts,lots of bass, 13 eels 20+ doggies,20+ pout.
8 speices, and 4 firsts for my m8(flounder,smut,thorny,doggie)
not bad nite considering it was a plan B

cheers john

Well done John.

Sometimes plan B is so much better than Plan A, I just wish I had a plan.
