well as shouted , baggie and me had crabs and we were prepared to use them

so off to Seaton ,our current fave venue and spot( lazy really as only 2 min stumble from car to water

)

conditions looked choppyish as we got there 8.20ish but there was little weed but a chilly s/w breeze meant jumpers on

amasingly there were almost no other fishermen there so we pretty much had beach to selves

( few bivvies way over to left near rivermouth)

Si from club met us after his holiday in the sun muttering about how cold it was

, l and set up just on my left

as tide dropped to hit the sand so the wind also dropped and the surf dissapeared, so we were fishing into a pond like sea reflecting a big old moon

as a point of interest the mackeral were again conspicuous by their absence tonight

at this point rich decided that conditions were no longer "perfect" (his words on arrival and usually the kiss of death) to thinking that tonight looked dead and cr*p, so of cause it was no less than 5 minutes later that I missed a good bite ( not worried as have learnt with smut hunting you often miss as many bites as connect too

) then the man who predicted dire things rich is connected to this wee beasy

guessed arround 3-4lb

, not his last fish but his best of night

then all hell broke loose for 3/4 hour to and hour
rich was in again
Then Si
then at last i connected, only small but not a blank
then whilst sorting bait to rebait that one the other rod went

this time i definately had a good fish that just hung on

and after a good scrap and expert ghillie work from Si ( Smut hunting is so much better as teamwork thanks mate) I had a great new PB in my hands

7Lb 5oz

,a good size for arround here,

I was well chuffed

we then all had more fish in quick succession in this manic run

and carried on till 1.30 when had gone quiet

end total was 11 hounds between the 3 of us, 5 to rich, 4 for me, and 2 for Si, and a new PB to try and beat at selsey

a good night with mates, a beer( had to mention didnt I) and also found the kebab shop still open

top top night again, definately getting venue sussed now between us, roll on next set of tides
