bagging up with baggie down the docks

Went for dangling the rods out down the docks tonight and had a very pleasant eve with rich and mate carl

With the may weed and bloom being a real problem on main beaches it really was a case of where the hell do we go( daren’t miss the wed night pass, unless work interrupts ) so a look at tides and it was down the docks

Tactics were small hooks , spinning rods and 1oz lead on running ledger, no extra swivels etc as just adds to snagging possibiliuty, to donate to the rocks below along side the wall hoping a fish gets first, for points and fun
Started fishig the dock mouth end

Soon I was into the first fish and it was points with a blenny


Then a succession of ballan wrasse, which rich was also into

Then at last( after several sets of gear, which is expected here) at last the main target a corkwring wrasse, as pretty and as feisty as ever


Time was heading on and we moved to the divers steps end
More wrasse and snags, then a short spined bullhead for points



It was getting dark by now and a thirst was building but I tried for the sprats that were being chased by other fish to no avail , had a couple of Pollock instead, rich also had a silver eel

So 6 species in a 2 hour session, several beers in pub by docks and then kebab and chips on way home

went again this morning ( as had to collect car from there )
lots of mackeral showing but they're very preoccupied with the tiny sandeel that are arround
