codding trip 8/6/08 wight reble

got to lymington at 6am and all were on board by 6.30.
and off we set to the happy cod hunting grounds in the mid channel on onboard wight reble. (inclueding claudia)
weather was spot on and could not have asked for better

now, iv not had a cod for 2 years till this weekend and what a way to break the ducks neck

to cut a long story short 1st drift resulted in 15 cod between 7 of us, next drift much the same.but sadly claudia few sea sick and went for a kip

as the day went on fishing slowed but continued to be very good. in fact extreamly good
we even tryed a new wonder bait patinted by eric him self

but sadly it kept tangling up , so more reserch needed. but we will see a cod on a bannana this summer

it was the best days codding iv ever had with a personal total of 20 cod for me rangeing from 5 - 13lb(beating my old pb of 14 cod in a day ),
biggest on the boat was about 14lb and a boat total of 91 cod but we returned any under 5lb which would go back, so thay can fatten up for the winter when i finish eating this lot...lol we took 83 in the end

i will state NO FISH WILL BE WASTED, all will be eaten. i have figure to maintain
got piccy of final haul but pm for it, tree huggers and all that.

claudia did mange a few over the day between felling like a bag of s**t

great day ,great weather, great company, great i caught more than skipper (ha ha)and some might say resonable fishing so i guess skipper(eric) can have a pat on the back too ,even if he cant catch them
what a day, one to remember

ps.
quick report from day b4 8/6/08 , took couple of freinds out to cod grounds on boat which i got use of from work, only fished for 3hours had 15 cod on boat, weather started to turn bit naughty so head home i manged few but was doing the netting and driving more than fishing as i knew next day i was out on wight reble.
