East Solent - West Solent

Decided to fish a couple of sessions this weekend as i can't get out next weekend, so fished Gilkicker on Saturday night with Paul (Planktonboy) managed a couple of hounds but only pups one of 4lb and one of 2lb, sadly for my fishing partner he didn't catch anything therefore he shall from this day forward be known as BlanktonBoy

Had some peeler left so decided to fish Calshot last night for a few hours, start of the flood some 3 hounds and a poor cod, picture of the poor cod included here for species hunt points - it got a bit savaged before i noticed it was on, whoops

Had my first reasonable hound last night as well, gave a good scrap and was quite something to see it coming up from the deep but clear water by Calshot Castle weighed in at 6lb 8, not a monster I know but best I've had so far being that i'm starting to think stories of 16lb hounds are more the stuff of myth than fact this season from the solent.

Hoping to get out once more this week with Paul before the weekend and will hopefully get him a fish, 'cos i think he's feeling a bit down at his recent blanking failure shocker, however he can count on me for support
