Selsey then Hamble Sat Night

Met up with Lee/Scotty and Jake to head down
to Selsey for some action on the Smuts

When we first arrived there was fish breaking
the surface which looked like Bass/Bream and gars?

Started fishing about 7 pm and apart from me the
others all had a few Bream each then Lee had a good
hit which slack lined him he tightened up only to be bitten off
big Smutt or Tope maybe?

High tide past and darkness fell in and Jake had a screaming
run that produced a lovely Smutt of 10lb 7.

His next cast and he was in again with a slightly smaller
one of 9lb 6, after that we all sat close to our rods just incase.
With that Lee's rod went which slacked him and he thought
he had lost the fish but beached a 6lb smutt.

As he landed it Scotts rod was banging and he reeled in
to find a surprise Bass of 2lb

Lee lost another smoothy but Scott had his first of the night
of 4lb i think?

As the tide ebbed it all went quiet with the odd rattle of the Beam.

Packed up at one am and we all drove round to Hamble.
First cast and the rods were rattling and Lee had a Pup
then a Sholie. Jake had a Pup or 2 as did Scotty with a double
shot of Pup/Sholie.

And enough was enough and we all went home for bed.
Oh yes i forgot to say i blanked
Still a cracking night all the same and nice to meet up with
the others. For me it must be next time

Also as Lee(cuckoo) cannot get online can the Smoothy and Bream be
added for his species points
Cheers

Re: Selsey then Hamble Sat Night

Great report/pics eddie, nice to see the smutt are showing at Selsey, as we are headng that way in a couple of weeks for our yearly smutt meet.

Well done to all who caught, specially to jake, that's a cracking smutt.

Nice to see my lil brov Lee has managed to catch a fish for a change

Scotty must have stayed awake during the night for a change....maybe he realized he can't catch fish when sleeping lol

Good to see some smuts appearing, that's a nice double, still want one of those myself.

Re: Selsey then Hamble Sat Night

Cracking evening gents. Looks like you had a top night.

Good to see smoothies of that stamp coming off... Hope they're still around in a couple of weeks.

Nice report and well done to all...
