Climping-pagham-bognor beach

Wasn't planing on visiting three venues yesterday when fishing with lewis but that's the way it turned out!!

Plan A
headed off to fish climping for stingray for a few hours as been rather settled for a few days and would of thought they would show around about now but after an hour or so fishing the tide started to run and it became very weedy and no chance of fishing really so it was onto plan b! Fish caught......Nill on four rods between us!

Plan B
After a small debate on whether to go home or hit the road and pop along to pagham we choose the later and headed for the fine beach of pagham......When arriving things didnt look to good with no parking spaces where we normally park so jumped out the car to check the beach (hazard lights on) Couldn't believe it.....never seen so many anglers! rod to rod and not one space for one more angler that alone two! Jumped in car headed west end of pagham.....same as...rod to rod! headed to east end and also rod to rod!!.....must of been 150 peeps or more down there!!! Plan C coming up!

Plan C
Well Cant really say this was a plan but decided We just wanted to fish....so choose to stop of at bognor beach for an hour or so on the way home to see what was about after reports of Bream and dogs off the pier the night before and still an outside chance of a stinger as well......unfortunately the stinger didnt come but managed a few fish....about ten pout and a dog between us on three rods....only fished for about an hour or so, so considering the time i think we done ok....just wish they where bigger fish really. Not really proud of the fish but here's a pic of the pout (species point shot)

And that was about it really......oh almost forgot this little fella caught by lewis.....a lobster of about a pound!! nice to see.

That's it!....pretty poor but at least i didnt blank which is always nice

effort = rewards, you went fishing, caught and scored a point and I bet the banter was great.

Well done.

Re: Climping-pagham-bognor beach

Bognor Update

We decided to give Bognor another try last night and 6 of us decided to fish a small catch and release style match, 7pm till 11pm.

When we got there first few chucks produced plenty of weed but that soon cleared once the tide rose. There were lots of mackerel shoaling all over the surface, to the left of us, to the right of us and occasionally infront of us.

Day time fishing was quite slow but i managed to get a 5 fish lead through catching 3 dogfish and 2 black bream all on king rag, bar a bream which took mackerel.

As it got dark one of the other anglers caught a 9lb 14oz hound so a change of tactics and i then fished one hook with just crab. First two chucks produced a 1lb 6oz bream followed by a 2lb 9oz bass. Fishyrob next to me then caught a hound of 7lb +. I had another schoolie just undersized then last two chucks i had two hounds of 9lb 7oz and 8lb 4oz. I managed to win with a weight of 26lb +. Fishyrob had the best hound of just under 11lb.

My best hound of 9lb 7oz, sorry about picture quality.

After the match I had another chuck and caught a smaller hound 5lb range then it all went quite again.

Probably the best fishing session i've had this year and have never really thought of fishing Bognor before but will do again. All fish were weighed and released straight after capture.

Re: Climping-pagham-bognor beach

Well done again mr lewis.....I really cant understand why the fish were up your end of the beach though and not in front of myself and the peg to my left!! only managed a few bream a few pout and only two that went to size!

Oh well definitely a place for the future i think!

And as for pagham.....yes it does get busy fairly often but only like most places when word get round there's fish there....never seen it quite so busy though!
