Hurst Spit

I will be giving Hurst Spit a try tomorrow morning, as myself and my girls have had quite a few bass spinning off of Pennington wall, most are only small school bass but it does bring a smile to your face catching fish.

So has anyone got any tips for Hurst Spit??

I will charge the camera and let you know what happens.

hi m8,
approx 1 1/2 hours into the flood at milford beach (the carpark/beach hut section) this morning at 01.30 am is when the tide started ripping and it got a bit too weedy to bait fish.
i'd take a guess that the bank may be fishable between approx 6am and midday give or take an hour without checking tide predictions.
any later and i'd take a gamble and fish the eastern side of the castle back towards the point faceing lymington during the flood.

Hi Guys

My alarm went off about 04.00 had a quick cup of tea before strapping my rods to my bike, 30 min ride down to Hurst Spit and riding on the shingle was a bit of a killer, my legs felt like they were going to drop off.
The tide was racing through past the groynes so I dicided to fish a bit further up the beach, got set up with a dexter wedge on my spinning rod and had a couple of hits straight away, as the sun came up over the castle I noticed that there were plenty of garfish jumping then after a few minutes had my first and only small bass of the early morning session.
High water was at 07.20, I stayed spinning untill about 08.00 then headed back for a spot of breakfast.

Conclusion - Nice warm and sunny morning, still water, 1 small bass, a nice start to the day.
