town quay last 3 weeks

been hitting town quay alot in last 3 weeks mainly as it been empty there at nite..the pout are still there in massive numbers and seem to be gettin bigger and so are the spider crabs(bloody things0.best catch so far was a sole about 2lb from about 20 yards out..theres rumors of a few bass bein caught but only seen 1 caught so far..i have worked out that the only bait that seems to work is squid and rag and lots of it...back down there a few nites this week i think...

Sounds tough to get through the nuisance species, but at least they're keeping you busy

i give the live pout a try next time...thanks for the advice

defo give the pout ago m8, cuckoo does fairly well with them and iv had lots of bass on pout all over southampton water.
i think T Q normaly fishs better towards the end of the summer whne the sole & bass are in numbers
saying that the is a defo shortage of decnt bass in the hamble so far this year so i guessing southampton water is the same
