Spahill is on a distinguished road
West Bexington 10/5/8

Arrived about 15:00 with Kirikomi.
Weather was warm, overcast but bright, gentle zephyr putting a few ripples on the mill pond.
Strolled off to the right with all the gear for a 2 day stay towards Cogden. Went possibly 1/2 a mile (twice the distance to the 1/4 mile stoone) along the path before heading up the shingle for a decent space between the other anglers.
Setup 2 rods with small hooks on flappers for worm hoping for a plaice, if only I could chuck that far.
didn't see any bites but all baits missing when retieved.
tried some mackerel strips - saw knocks but mised bites.
Then Kirikomi hooked a doggie.
Switched 1 rod to a pennel with a goodly chunk of mackie, connected with another doggie.
Didn't get much more till it got dark, then after a quick trip to Bridport for a kebab & some cold cans, had a steady trickle of doggies followed by a little pout.
Pout was sent back out at close range, ever in hope. It twitched a couple of times over the next hour & half. When I pulled it back in there was an enourmous cuttlefish attached which had eaten almost all of the Pout.
Size of a rugby ball it was... well i didn't do a Johny Wlkinson or a David Beckham but i did persuade it to return to the sea with my boot, not knowing how fast they were with their beaks.
More doggies till 03:00 then I retired to an undersized tent for a couple of hours kip whilst the lightening lit up the sky inland.
Nothing but mackerel on feathers in the morning.
Packed up & went home around 15:00 as it was toooo hot on the beach, 2 days turned into 1 but couldn't get enough sleep during the day to make fishing the evening worthwhile.

A great 24 hours fishing/sunbathing, if you like doggies (I do)

Note to anyone who goes - take bog roll - toilets short of it, gents became blocked - guess everyone else was forced to use Ladies as well.
Thanks to Dorset council for providing the facilities, car park charges seemed reasonable £5 a day + 40p per night.

Re: West Bexington 10/5/8

Was digging through the photos & found this one of a double hookup for Kirikomi

If anyone wants their sock back - it's in my rubbish bin at home along with the Le wrapper francais fish.

Heres one of the rugby ball.... they look more friendly in the daylight
