princesser 26/04/08 got out at last

got a phone call on friday saying f2-3 sunny and warm, that was enough to say sod work at weekend, more to life than working every hour.
so got to whale island at 7.30 and meet my m8 mick & jeff and we head out to Princesser in hope of a few biggie bream and smuts, and after we found a nice spot anchored up and first drop a bloody doggie on my peeler crab ,first one of the year, but not the last. them next drop a nice marked male black bream, we thought we were going to clean up but the day stayed slow and steady and couple of hours in we had few nice bream too 2 1/2 lb and couple of smuts to 6lb but it started to go even quiter so we moved in shore a little and found another patch of rough and i had a few more nice bream to 3 1/2 lb (which took the money ) and nice smut 10lb ish on my spinning rod and a size 4 hook which tangled every one and every think it could of and took 20 minutes to land . while we were trying to sort out the mess jeff manged to get back down and banged staight in to a nice bream 3 lb. then things went dead again bar the odd pout and doggie, so we head home .






for me it was a great day , as iv not been REAL(lol) fishing for 4 months dew to family illness and work .
its kick started my hunger to get out more.

was wicked fun and lasted about 20 minutes, bet my missus wish i lasted that long.....lol

will defo be doing lot more spinning rod action on the smuts, just hope i dont regrete it

Nice catch John. We had plenty of Bream off Weymouth today too. Nice Smoothound too mate. I hope you pointed him towards Selsey when you released him? Not long now untill the Forum Smutt meet...

Well done John. Good to see you out and fishing again, and I managed sea bream on my boat trip, so you beat me to the points .

I think I had better get down that canal and try to catch some of the small coarse fish and leave the big boys up to you
