wasnt really sure where to go last night, i had enough bait for 10 sessions and a good high tide at 9.45, bait that needed useing the quickest was the crabs as starting to pop, so decided seaton and maybe another early smoothie, well i had seen first swifts yesterday so summer species here we come headed there with mate carl and we were parked at right hand end of beach and set up just after 7 the beach was suprisingly empty with only a few tinsel flingers over to the left, well at this point i had baits out for a flattie at range or makkie/anything midrange but nothing was doing, mate was purely spinning, Just as the light was fadeing 8.30-40ish and most of the tinsellers left, we noticed some fish breaking surf not 4 or 5 feet ofshore, and so carl had a go and first makkie of year on beach, i then moved makkie baits to an underarm flick out and had one myself for points as well as a nice pate later ![]() ![]() as it got totally dark nothing was happening on these rods so it was out with the crab, but all this did was feed doggies, so after 4 of these , i decided not to feed them my expensive crab anymore and headed home happy now as first mackeral of year always seems like sumers eventually here ![]() dave oh went to budliegh this morning 6am -8am hoping for a plaice with 3 other club members but nothing happening, just crabs now do i dare a pass out tonight ![]() ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives

Re: seaton summer species success Well done Dave. Have you posted the recipe for the pate previously, or is it a trade secret? Time to dust off the ELO cd & put "Mr Blue Sky" on the road to the coast . __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:>

Re: seaton summer species success well as baggie bullied me into it last night i found myself on jacobs beachuseing up the last of the bait was a very quiet eve, both had a blank busting doggie on the beach and that was it, conditions looked great for a ray but think the last week of easterlies have slowed things down too much Rich's V close in rod did have one of those bent over double/how did i miss that type of bites( keep thinking big dogfish mate and it wont be so upsetting ) for some excitementthe ray will be connecting soon, i'm sure they are there but we just keep finding the doggie accompanyments next time as ever ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives
