| Bells of hythe comp (milford on sea) I fished the bells of hythe comp last night at milford on sea, It was very hard going with that north easterly and it pretty much killed the fishing.I only managed a 17cm pout for all my efforts but the winner had 98cm of fish with a mixed bag of pout and one dogfish. A few other species made and apperance with a 67cm smutt a Bass and a small plaice caught. Weed was light to moderate but with the tidal rip as it is down there on a big tide made life difficult fishing at distance. Im not a fan of match fishing but fish the comps for a bit of fun, plus Al's who organizes it is a mate. Top prize was 110 quid with 22 anglers fishing. This year has been absolute rubbish for me so far and my species count has only been pout, whiting, rockling and a token flounder. Cant even catch a dogfish at the moment! |
