Unhappy think baggie knew best, jacobs tonight

well i havnt been out for a week and had the shakes

was meeting si at 7 then rich would join later on an assault on jacobs
weather report small n/e wind at 7mph possible shower, ok this should be ok
high tide 7.30

when si and me got to the top conditions looked ideal, very little/almost no surf after a good blow this looked good, clear skies and little wind

down we went and on setting up, it got darker and darker, then hurricane sidmouth awoke with a full on easterly with its friend mr heavy rain
now i had only taken brolley due to metcheck and this was just not having it, 4 times i tried to erect it but it was all over the shop

so anyway i digress and at 8pm rich arrives at the top and asks " you having fun down there ?" the answer was fairly short and sweet so decided he would head somewhere better where i would meet later

so we packed up as decided this was not floating our boats and there were betterplaces to be

had a quick chuck out at chit ledge as semi sheltered on way back, 1 missed bite , then si lost gear so decision well made for us , and off i went to meet baggie in the better place by 10pm

3 pints later and all is well with the world

please can these easterlies stop soon as its killing the fishing( well theres got to be something out there somewhere) and planning something big for wed night

Re: think baggie knew best, jacobs tonight

I sat in the car for a good 10 mins before deciding it wasn't going to happen last night. It was absolutely lashing it down and I wanted to fish so badly that it took that long for common sense to kick in and the call of the pub became too strong.

Ah well... We'll get 'em next time.

I think I know what you are saying Rich, it rings some bells.

But as you say "we'll get 'em next time."

Cheers
