| Jacobs Ladder tonight (Sat 19th) Well, hang the bad weather, I'm off to Jacob's tonight to see what I can get. If you'd like to join me please do, I'll be the one in the bright, shiny, orange and blue floatation suit looking like a complete novice. I'm going with rags and sandeel so hopefully see a bass or a ray, we'll see. Got no camera but will report back tomorrow. Cheers all Tony |

| Re: Jacobs Ladder tonight (Sat 19th) Hi All Baggie you were right, it was WILD down there last night and lonely, I had the whole beach to myself, not another soul in sight (they must have known something I didnt). Sea was well coloured out to 300yards, so thought I might be lucky, hmmmmmm. I took Rag and Sandeel planning on a rag close in for the bass and sandeel at about 70 yds out for the ray. But fishing was difficult, it was hard to keep the lead (7oz gripper) where I wanted as the 5-8 foot breakers were constantly dragging on the line. Had some good knocks on the line and retreived about a dozen times with the rag or sandeel having gone missing but no fish on the end. Might easily have been the large pebbles being thrown around by the high seas. Finally gave up (high tide and 4 hours down) about 11.30pm as the constant fine rain and a fairly thick sea mist meant I hardly see the cliff 15 yards behind me let alone where I was casting. So a big blank, but enjoyed being out again anyway Thanks for all the good wishes, hope to see some of you out and about. Cheers all Tony PS The new flotation suit works a treat, must remember the gloves next time. |

| Re: Jacobs Ladder tonight (Sat 19th) Well done Tony. A good effort in those conditions. I knew the Sundridge wouldn't let you down though. ![]() Myself and Ping are off down there tonight. Can't say there's much chance of a good fish to be honest, but it's got to be better than sitting in front of the goggle box. Hasn't it? ![]() __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check.
