are you sure it was a mullet? surprising how many people confuse mullet and bass !!!!

and if you was out in all that surf it would surprise me that mullet was lurking in it!

Im sure it was. What we did was - there is a calm bit were the tide doesnt get to. The water is clear there. We dropped down our lines about 2ft below the surface with some bread or sand eel on. We watched them nibble. One bit the hook for me but it let go at the nlast second. And today i went and caught jack shit too. The bass don't like me.
