Dover prince off wales Trip

Well what a wase of time that was!!! I arrived at the pier at 10am armed with 5 score of lug, 3 score rag, sandeel, blues and sqid. Was fishing with two rods and using a wishbone rig with 1/0 kamasans on one, and a 3 hook flapper with size 2 on the other. Hight water was at 14.00 and was a 7.2 so was hoping to catch myself some plaice.

It was crap!!!! I didnt get a bite all day on either rod, my mate who was fishing with me caught 1 spider crab all day and after walking up the pier we found out that the sum total of fish for the whole pier was 2 pout and a transparent dab!!! In fact the only good thing about the day was the weather!.

Packed up from the pier at 16.00 and thought we would swing by dungeness and try fishing the ebb as the sun dropped to try and maybe get a bass. Gave hyth a thought untill we saw some fisherman on the beach who had not had anything all day.

Dunge was just as much of a waste of time as dover and after 3 hrs fishing and freezing we headed home!!!

150 miles, £50 spent and nothing!

Never mind tho fishing is deffinatly a labour of love and will prob be on the beach in a few days full of optimism.
