Red face Brainiac fishing jacobs ladder type scientific studdies into feeding habits of dogs

last night being a wednesday is fishing night with rich

after many a deliberation as too venue, we decided apon good old jacobs
1: big tide
2: leaving time
3 rich not feeling 100% ( due to young daughter and no sleep)so not too far to go

well due to reason 3 we ended up in 2 cars, and with other mate si ( who lives 1/2 mile from home) joining us in his car , so much for conservation and the enviroment thats 3 cars now

anyway we went for the trudge to the part known as the tank traps
conditions were about as calm as can get

and very mild as well , so hopeing more for ray than bass, but you dont know unless you try

we were fishing for an early ray or possibly a bass

baits were peeler, rag and lug for the bass
sandeel , squid, raw prawn and mackeral for the ray

rough brainiac type scientific study bit now

our fishing last night has provided us with the following information which I am happy to pass on

The prime bait for catching a dogfish is

1: Crab..... ...... dogs hit this bait in seconds so we stopped useing it very quickly as too costly

2: sandeel.... ...... probably because most used bait when fishing for the ray

3: makkie and squid always a good old favourite doggie bait , happy too say still working well and wolfed down happily

4: rag and lug ... ... the smaller dogs in close where the bass should be seemed to appreciate this bait

5: raw king prawn.. only used the once and managed to catch , so further more extensive tests to be carried out

6: bare hook.... ..... only thing not to catch a doggie

we gave up at 11 as we couldnt handle any more top sport from these "bait robbing b@*$&rds " as rods would only just be being put back in rest before bouncing away again, all lost count of how many we had, no other species had a look in

so if you need a dogggie for the hunt and are struggling i think they are all at jacobs

dave

Ps :roll on saturday nights fishing at a very special venue, and for once one that i cant tell you where it is due to access( sorry)but you will know result if i go
