Lee-on-Solent 6/4/8

Fished Lee tonight 2000 - 0100 HW0037
Bloody cold starlit night with strong W wind but died away in the middle but returned and it got even colder .... no bait defrosted at all !

Anyway, came looking for Thornbacks and ..... Pout I got and Whiting ... and pout ... whiting ... pout ... pout ... oh and a great big Whelk !

Caught dozen of each before changing over one rod to bigger hooks so fished with 2 rods with big Sandeel/rag/crab baits - still caught pout !!!

Not a single ray although had 2 stonking bites in the hour before HW - had to be rays I think but no connection ....

Defrosting now with a nice cuppa ....

Re: Lee-on-Solent 6/4/8

Its been a no show on the ray front over this side of the solent to, had the same at lepe with a couple of very promising knocks but nothing doing.
Good effort especially braving that northerly! it was freezing walking the dogs along calshot last night.
Those rays have got to make an apperance soon...
