someone must have said something about plaice.

'tis a shame the fish were few and far between for ian and the guys
i'm never that keen on daylight this early in the year, i always find it patchy ,
but if you want the spottys its got to be done.

Re: A difficult day at West Bexington...

Well what can I say, I had a great day, apart from me having a hissy fit at the start , I had not eaten breakfast and had taken my Diabetic tablets first thing, by the time we were fishing my sugar levels dropped and I was getting short tempered, but out came the peanut butter buttes and a “banana” and I was feeling a lot better, Thanks Ian for putting up with me at the start.

Mind when I bought my tackle I bought some bulk line to go on my new reel, 15lb line. First cast went ok, got my second rod out to notice that my line on my first rod was loose and hanging down, on retrieval my line had snapped, on testing the 15lb line it was snapping in my hand like cotton. Anyway cut a huge story short and some more hissy fits, Ian lent me some more line to re-spool my reel. Later that afternoon, I thought I had a bite and on retrieval I felt some weight, My heart began to pound, had I done it, had I caught my first sea fish, no I had caught my broken line and managed to retrieve the rig I lost at the start.

The day was great but the cold moved in but as I was packing my rods down I brought in my new rod to find a Pout on the end, and I caught this before Ian’s as well. I had done it my first sea fish.

I had a great day, Thanks again Ian for taking me.

P.S. Sorry about the forks

apparently it was the 'flattie' open(arranged i think by weymouth angling centre)a rumour going round has it that 100 plaice were caught, yet all the reports i've read over the week end report nothing.
