| Parkshore/diben bay/lepe deep water 3/4th Well it seems my bad luck is still with me, I've been fishing three times in two days and all I managed was a flounder (it was a good one though about 2lbs and spent from spawning!) Started of thursday night myself and Rick Prince went down to parkshore to as a bit of an experiment to see if we could temp some thornie's or Bass but it was not to be, it was a gorgeous night with no wind and still quite warm out and the sea was dead calm... baits were obliterated by crabs as soon as the hit the water. Give it a few more weeks and those crabs will be running for there lives as the smoothound arrive! The next morning I went with another mate to fish for some schoolies at dibden bay and managed a nice flounder had to cut session short as he forgot to mention he had to be back at 12, I reckon I could of pulled a few more out If i hung around. Finally on friday night I got talked into going to the deep water mark at lepe and fished close to the dolphins (metal structure) fished with mackerel and rag cocktails,sandeel with squid,squid head and rag and plain rag had plenty of bites and started of promising especially with the larger bait for rays but could not connect, my mate had a few doggies a bass and a few pout (on pennelled sandeel!) and lost a good fish, it broke the lead out headed of and headed of against down tide he felt it kick a few times and the broke him off, the line was frayed when He checked it so we think it rubbed on a rock. All in all feeling a bit gutted today but still cant wait for next time. Is it me or it seems that all the reports of rays are coming from the isle of wight lots of spotties from the solent side and sandown is fishing brilliantly for smalleyes! Cheers mark     |

| Re: Parkshore/diben bay/lepe deep water 3/4th yep park shore was pants thursday night,i was expecting a few fish but those ruddy crabs pinching the bait didn,t help.im tempted to head for the dolphins tonight instead of hordle.shame steve lost it,what did he think it was...bass...ray  . |
