| chesil 3.4.08 best layed plans of mice and men. well on wednesday night the tides were sweet for a hordle or lee on solent ray hunt and the lighter nights would have given me chance to dig a bit o worm. but the boss kindly , which kept me tied to the house for the night.thursday night was out due to a 5am start friday morning. and so the plan was shuffled again and i settled for another crack at the plaice on chesil. just needed to get some worm. with the thursday morning school run done i had the car loaded and away for west bay and the bait shops. they'd sold out of rag/lug by the time i'd got there at 11.30am.somwhat dishartened i gave up on the idea of plaice and went and plonked myself on burton bradstock beach at the usual spot with a box of squid and a pkt of medium sandeel. with no target in mind, just an afternoons fishin' the wind was very light from the n/w, the sea flat calm with just an oily swell rolling small breakers onto the beach at low water. it looked brilliant conditions for the plaice at bexi coz i knew most of the colour would drop out as the tide flooded. rigs were;- wishbone & 2 hooks clipped with bling, and later a pulley pennel. low water was almost a fish a chuck, all be it doggies but i didn't care it was a nice warm day and i spent a relaxing time reading a book in the sunshine between bites . the obligatory pout turned up after a blank spell dureing the early flood but it was just the 1. from time to time i had a chuck about with a set of hokki shrimps but nothing doing. the beach got quite busy with about 20 rods and various holiday makers but i saw little else caught . i called it a day at about 7pm due to sun burn and the early start on friday, i'd almost run out of bait anyway ( fish showed a marked preference for the sandeel) totals;- a pout and a dozen doggies-DOH. when i got home i'd just about scoffed my scran and swallowed a cup o coffee when the phone ring again and the duty supervisor at work is begging for me to cover a guard who's gone sick up in swindon i just luv an organised work place .i got home 8.30 s'mornin' , just about 'kin knackered ![]() __________________ 2008, sessions..26, total blanks..3 species,..20 its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him. |

Like Ping says, we'll have to catch up soon mate. ![]() __________________ Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. | Re: chesil 3.4.08 best layed plans of mice and men. Certainly beats the hell out of fixing computer progams and fighting the urge to shove colleagues out of a second floor window. Even more so when you find yourself wondering if it's worth opening it first. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
