Selsey East Beach 29/3/8

Fished Selsey East Beach last night with Gullyworm.
Fished 2000 - 0200 (English time) HW0310 foreign time
Wet cold & very windy .... and hard work ....

... boy was it hard work .... we walked up onto the prom from the shelter of the houses and it litterally lifted you up off your feet - really strong F6/F7 southery which means on East Beach if comes at right angles .... the forecast was for SW winds which means it is reasonably comfortable with the wind over your shoulder but someone forgot to tell the wind last night

Really hard to cast - for every yard going forward the lead went 3 yards left which you could cope with if it weren't for the groynes in the way

Least it aint raining we remarked - wrong - it rained pissistantly for the last 3 or 4 hours - deep joy

Still you have to be init to winit - we were second

GW did well though with these fish - I had to make do with Pout & schoolie .... decided to save all my best peeler for the smuts soon so stuck with rag/limpet & squid ...

Re: Selsey East Beach 29/3/8

Forgot to add the by-catch .... a nice selection of carrier bags including an old rare tesco version and an onion bag in blue that took my rod flying ...... so much for my excitement in BIG BASS .....

Re: Selsey East Beach 29/3/8

Well done at least you caught something. Did you fish near the football pitches towards the pagham end of selsey or did you fish reasonably close to the lifeboat station ?

Thumbs up Re: Selsey East Beach 29/3/8

He who dares Rodney etc etc... Well done guys. As for me, I sat by the fire in a cosy pub & had a nice steak along with a few pints of Wadworths 6X. I'd rather have been fishing though....
