| Eastney 23/3/8 Fished 2000 - 0100 HW0047 Very cold starlit night - no wind, dead flat sea Not to sure what to expect tonight, didnt have to wait long, first cast ... triple shot Pout, then Pout again - here we go - another Pout bash .... but next cast - a Poor Cod - finally learnt how to ID these correctly, a top UK angler (not Gully !) said that difficult to tell sometimes but the best way is to look at your hands after - if they glisten and sparkle - a Poor Cod - they loose lots of scales if you handle them - this one definatly a poor cod !!!  Had another half dozen or so mixed in with Pout including this one who went for the close in Bass Squid - it was bigger than he was !  Switched from rag & squid to rag & fish baits - started to catch quite a few pin Whiting, got bored so back to rag & squid ... more Pout ..... nothing close in - no Bass at all .... 30 plus fish - didnt blank .....
