Southsea 6/3/8

Took the Gully out for a fish tonite ...... 2000 - 0000 HW2252

Unfortunatley the usual spot was taken by a rovers match in OUR spot so we had to move along - bloody inconsiderate ..... the 'blocks are next but people there as well so we had to make do with the middle section - never fished there before so a first .....

The plan for big baits/big bass was somewhat undermined by the streetlights being quite close to the water and illuminating the whole area ... sadly the big bass agreed and didnt come out to play so had to make do with Whiting & Pout.

Decided to have a bash at my pendulum casting technique whilst Gully was asleep so I wouldnt embarass myself, got some good distance with a few casts so tried to be really clever and really wind one up ..... got max height on the weight and really compressed the rod and felt it - awsome - as Henry would say - immense power in the rod - sadly my thumb was not awsome and the damn spool slipped at the crucial moment causing the mother of all birdies - on my nice new expensive Daiwa Sensor line as well .... and I know it was heading for the Isle of Wight - ah well - next time maybe .....

Re: Southsea 6/3/8

Nice one guys.

Can't believe John couldn't even manage 4 hours of fishing without sleeping. Shocking.

Re: Southsea 6/3/8

To me it always seems harder to pendulum at night.
