Swanage 1/3/8

Decided to hide from the weather & go to Swanage.
The Jinx struck again.
Arrived at 16:15 to find the tackle shop was closed for 4 days due to the road outside being resurfaced.
Luckily I had a few sand eels left over from the last trip, some stinky squid, 1/2 a fillet of mackerel & a couple of herring defrosting in the back of the car.

Kirikomi fancied a cod whilst I opted for the huss. Served up with chips & tartare sauce it went down well. Unfortunately I had cleaned my plate before Kirikomi started on her fish & discovered I had eaten the cod .

Not expecting to catch much we lessened our chances by setting up under the lights at the left hand edge of the beach, the 20 yd walk from the car was hellish. Wind was light at the start but picked up steadily through the evening. Forgot to pack the brolly, but it was warm enough with the wind on our backs.

Didn't see many bites, possibly one.... but when I wound in at 21:00 attached to a squid was a gorgeous pout.

fished till 23:30 then pointed the car North.

Sounds a difficult session, so well done on catching.
