last night found me paceing the house in a sullen manner, < back to work saturday after this weeks hols and only fished once

by 2am i'd had enough and crept out the house with the gear heading for burton bradstock

, hopeing its not too rough.

arrived about 4am, weather was quite warm, wind s/westerly and not that strong thankfully it was dry and overcast but i could hear moderate surf crashing on to the beach which put payed to my plan of a possible ray hunt in darkness and maybe a bonus plaice at dawn.

couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere and so made the best of it.
erected my bivvy and set up the rods in super quick time .

tide .....h/w 7am ish (i think).

bait....... squid, black lug.

rigs.......2 hook flapper, with bling (god knows why i put that on?)
pulley rigs, 2/0 single, and a 6/0 pennel.

with the rods nodding gently in the surf my 1st cast yealded a pout, not the 4 inch solent variety but a 12 incher which was marginally better than the ones i had last time out.things were looking good
the tide flooded, the surf got bigger (moved bivvy 30ft further up the bank)but the wind dropped .
casts were going well and i didn't loose a rig or puff my reel all morning

but the fish did seem in short supply.
the token doggie made an appearance about 0630.

the day dawned and as i suspected the sea was chocolate coloured. (where's the cod n bass ??) at least the surf appeared to be dropping a little.

the tide started to ebb and i managed to winkle out another pout,
no piccys of pout, just fed up with adding images of these bloody things to my pc.
left at 10am hopeing to get back b4 i was missed

good session though, any session thats not a blank in febuary's got to be good

. next time.
