town quay 16th feb

Fished town quay last night 16th feb.
Original plan was to hop on the lymington ferry to yarmouth pier,
with two of my mates.
Was really looking forward to it as we've had some good catches on here before. Little did we know that the pier was shut for renovation! We looked like a right bunch of you know whats! so back on the ferry with no clue where to go! easterly winds with a poor tide that was ebbing fast!
so town quay it was ened up there at 830pm,soon got through a pound of worms with plenty of whiting and pout showing.
I also dropped a lug and squid bait over and had a couple of knocks but nothing showing.
Interesting thing was fish were close in at first just dropped over the edge but near the end of the ebb all fish came from deep water where ferry comes in.
Left at 12pm frozen.
winds are swinging round this week and were coming on to some good tides so back chasing ray again this week.
Might try and sneak a mid week session in at hythe, calshot spit or maybe town quay again! :)

Re: town quay 16th feb

Just got back myself from the Quay, another Pout fest, but easy fishing from the car, good idea about hopping over to the island on the ferry, haven't thought about doing that before, any idea how it costs to go on foot?

Full marks for effort. Roll on the summer I reckon.
