esaa feb sidmouth comp the results

well being feb this was always going to be a scratch fest and small turnout, high tide 6.30 but fishing 7.30-11.30 so most of tide down
in the end 10 members( includeing 2 new which takes the clubs membership to the high 80's now ) turned out on what was actually a very pleasent and mild evening , surf and sea conditiond looked lovely but the recent storms had pushed the beach up a bit

normal railings( waist hight)

west end platform

and totally burried at end

i pitched myself along the beach about 50-70 yrds
baits purely rag ( still more of the eype mountain)and sandeel hopeing for pout/whiting flatties or dogs
in the end nothing would play for me, didnt even see a bite

noticed that the storms have created a new sandbar about 50yrds out so waves breaking there but left a huge pool behind of 6inch deep water where usually goes to dry sand (only had hike boots on tonight ) so meant a huge cast to get too sea by end

come the weigh in most people had said their farewells and regestered a blank, infact only 3 weighed in at all, with those that decided to fish the rocks or take a long long walk along beach the lucky ones, paul freeth was the winner with 2 doggies , but he had also had this lovely 4lb bass 20-30 mins before the comp so didnt count

well done paul

next month is back to budliegh as still going to be scratching month but maybe more chance there than sidmouth

dave

Yeh Unlucky Dave, better to be out there trying than sat at home in the arm chair contemplating it... Maybe next time it will be you with the bass.

Good Luck at Budleigh
