Dungie near the boats report 17/01/08

Fished the boats at Dungie 17/01/08 from low tide all the way in and two hours going out. Me and four friends caught one codling, two bass, one rockling, around 20 whiting and one dab nothing to take home as all were under the limit and were returned to catch another day. Forgot to mention that my mate "Bunny" caught a pair of womens thongs, and I caught a cap, both of these were classed as keepers as there was no minimum size listed on the NFSA web pages, so taken home and placed in the bin. Water was very coloured, wind from south west (very strong) and at times rain and hail. Very hard to hold the bottom and uptiding most of the time. When you managed to grip, it was not long before a small amount of weed broke the grip. Did not run out of bait as we were well stocked with squid, mackie and lug. We almost run out of reels, managed to smash 4 between us, and also smashed a rod rest. Almost unfishable due to the wind - but we had a good day out with the lads. The competition we fished was won by us all, as the other team failed to turn up. This mark will fish well after the blow. Sadly will not be fishing it as I am off to Goa for three weeks. Will post another report on my return.
