Worthing Pier 14th Jan

Fished Worthing Pier today for a couple of hours with the hope of getting Flyingfox and Myself on the species trail. Sea was very rough and coloured and when i got there someone i knew said they had lost a bass of about 5-6lb when trying to handline it up the side of the pier.

Fished using lugworms and mackerel for bait and from the very first chuck to the last cast the whiting were biting regularly. Most were just sizable, 27cm upto 33cm but someone did manage one of 39cm which weighed 1lb 4oz.

All we caught were whiting, so nothing really exciting to write about but took a picture of the first one i caught to claim species points.



All were returned alive and the only real excitement was when two huge showers passed through with the winds getting up so much that the originally rough sea's before hand completely flattened out.
