sat night and the species hunt start proper for the "2pints of speckled hen" collective

weather had been lovely dureing the day but turned pretty horrid come the eve, mostly the very strong s/w wind and threat of rain, but baggie had got some top bait includeing some cracking peeler
we were going to go floundering but the wind scuppered that
went to ladram, already 5 people there and with big high tide no room for more
jacobs was almost underwater with the waves so we hit sidmouth seafront which was being sheltered by the rock groins

set up infront of the Devonshire arms hotel(which looked so inviteing) there was a good swell but after casting out realised quite alot of weed on first 10-20yrds of surf

I was having a mare with either weed,, a reel that wasnt running right or just general incompetance

well the fishing was less than spectacular but rich managed first blood with this whiteing


and eventually after re leadering both rods i managed a doggie on a whole squid


weather got worse and fishing didnt pick up so we packed up 11.30 to find hotel bar was still open and serving so was rude not to celebrate first hard earned points with a beer
then somehow richs car found a kebab house on way home as well

a good night all in all, glad we didnt decide to go last night as was horrendous
and first points for the dotty cluckers

I do agree with Vagabond.....I think this two sports men need to undergo a drug test and have to be banned from the species hunt, if proven positive on the Spotty cock drug
