Portland This Saturday

happy new year all....myself and a few mates are heading to portland saturday after the huge wrasse.fished there 2 weeks ago had 12 over 3lb between 4 of us.baits will be hard back crab and rag.if anyone else fancy,s it let me know.probably be getting there about 7am

This is the time of year to catch a record Wrasse from Portland.
My mate broke the record with a 9lb 2oz Ballan. I am not sure if he still holds the record.
He caught down the Bill during January.

thanks for the info....im heading for cheyne,hows that been fishing???did he take his wrasse on hardback?

Cheyne is OK, but you never get the real big ones from there. Yes it was Velvet Swimmer hard backs.

Some nice wrasse around at the moment, went with my brother down my way and had 30 all over 4lbs, with the biggest 5lb 8oz, great sport!!

I think the record one was caught from the Pulpit. OK if you've a head for heights LOL

You are correct Greenheart. You have to give it a good cast to clear the ledge. Not for the likes of me. I prefer fishing on the ledge to the left.
